Diving in a current can feel like flying underwater.
In the PADI® Drift Diver course, you’ll learn drift diving tips from an experienced instructor and practice buoyancy control, navigation, use of surface signaling equipment and buddy communication.

Complete the independent study part of your course whenever, wherever it’s convenient for you.

Work at your own pace, online or offline, using a computer or mobile device. Connect with your instructor for inwater training,
or whenever you have a question.

eLearning time commitment: 2-4 hours

This course requires both knowledge development and inwater training for certification.
Cost of all training materials, training dives and equipment is included in cost of course.

There is an option to choose to complete ypour final last 2 dives off the boat for an extra cost

In addition to basic scuba equipment, you'll use various surface marker buoys and floats with lines and reels.
A surface marker buoy (SMB) is important safety equipment - no matter where you dive.
Consider buying one prior to your course so you can practice using it and become familiar with how it works.

DAY 1
Meeting at Kirra Dive approx 3 hours for a Dive Briefing, meet the Crew and than head out to Tweed Bar. 
We will be completing 2 shore dives. Tweed bar is ideal for due due to its strong currents and easy excess.
You will be using some new equipment, practise some new skills and plan ypur first drift dive.

DAY 2
Depending on the option you choose, we will be heading out to Nine Mile Reef.Nine Mile reef is located approx 4.5 Miles
off the Tweed Coast and known for strong currents. Other sites that we may choose is Marys Rock off Cook Island or Fidos Reef
