Becoming a scuba diver with our beginner scuba diving lessons!
This is the first step in a journey that will forever change the way you look at the underwater world.
You will explore a weightless underwater world, observe incredible marine life and discover the fragile ecosystem below the surface. Learning to dive is much easier than you think! The PADI online materials will help prepare you for this first taste of a great underwater experience from the comfort of your own home. If you want to dive anywhere, with other certified divers, the Open Water Diver program is your international certification to be part of an exclusive group that most people only dream about joining.
For the ultimate access to undersea adventure, nothing beats scuba diving. Breathing below the surface is far easier than you've been led to believe. Do not be deterred by a certification process generally viewed as daunting and time consuming. And who can blame them? Nobody wants to be stuck in class. At Kirra Dive we get you to complete your online training at home.
DAY 1
Once you complete your theory at your own pace at Home, we will get you into the Pool. This is what it’s all about – diving. You'll develop basic scuba skills in a pool with an instructor until you're comfortable.
DAY 2
When you're ready it’s time to head out to the ocean to do your first 2 Training dives. Your will complete the dives just off the calm waters at Jack Evans Boat Harbour. This is a great easy site to put everything you’ve learned into practice. Once you finish completing your stills at the beginning of the dive, our staff will take you on a tour of the site. Your may encounter Turtles, Sting Rays, Sea Pikes, Pineapple Fish, Seasonal Octopus and definitely the Tweed River Angel Fish.
DAY 3
You will head to Jack Evans Boat Harbour again for the final river dive to finish off more skills with the instructor.
OPTIONAL EXTRA COOK ISLAND DIVE - Newly Certified Special (Gear not included, special $49)
Once you have been certified we offer a student price of $100 to do a double dive to Cook Island, you can do this on the following day or when your next free.
In conclusion you will be qualified and have a $100 credit to use for a Boat Dive Gift Certificate or your next course, your new mask, whatever you like.
ACHIEVEMENT
It will hardly feels like a chore. Ultimately you graduate as a PADI Open Water Diver. From then on, whenever you want to go back under the waves anywhere around the world, you'll be able to secure equipment without having to start from scratch with new lessons.
What is scuba gear?
Scuba diving equipment allows you to visit the underwater world by making it possible to breathe, see and move comfortably while below the surface.
Gear helps you change from being a land-dweller to somewhat of an aquatic being – if only for a little while.
When you are starting as a scuba diver , you’ll will need suggestions and tips.
Keep in mind that fit, comfort and suitability are the three most important considerations when choosing gear, but you don’t have to sacrifice color coordination and looking good

When will I recieve my training materials? What do I need to bring? What will I be doing during the course? Do I Need a Medical Australian Standard AS 4005.1 and SPUMS both recommend a diving medical be completed. Please read carefully through the medical Can I change the days around ?
Once you have enroolled in yur course, you should recieve yoour training materials within 24 hours (online)
If you chooose the hardcopy books, than you will need to arrange pick from shop
We will be going into the pool on the first day after theory review. All you need is your towel, swimmers etc.
We will be providing the Scuba Equipment. Please feel free to bring in your own Mask or Fins. Check out our Course specials
Day 1 - Theory Review and Skills practise in Heated Pool
Day 2 - You will practise skills and go for a dive (2 dives approx 20-35 mins each)
Day 3 - Depending on the ption you choose (boat or shore) you will complete the final 2 training dives
Although a diving medical will not be required, it is nevertheless strongly recommended.
Further, a diving medical may uncover conditions or issues you may not be aware of, fornexample ear, nose and throat, or lung function issues, all of which could expose you to the risk of serious injury or death while diving.
