As an oceanographic explorer, environmentalist, educator, and film producerhe describes Fiji as being the soft coral capital of the world.
With 390 varieties of soft and hard corals and over 1200 fish species, Fiji has possibly the most varied and colorful reefs in the world. Fiji’s underwater topography has cave dives, trench dives, tunnel dives and incredible cliff dives to entice divers.
When to dive
November to late March is the rainy season and typhoons are possible. However, many divers enjoy diving at this time of the year because of reduced crowds and dive specials. The air and water temperatures are still very warm and on most days the rain showers are short. May to October is the summer season, and as result, it can be a lot busier.
